yes local rag. We have 2 in my area . The Echo . and the byron shire news . Chalk and cheese.
The former set up in response to a community need , after the existing media refused to cover the heavy handed police raids in Main arm Mullumbimby area. The latter the usual crap free advertising sheet that i throw away wet and unread everyweek from my driveway .
Echo rocks , we'll be sorry when its gone .
Byronshire news , is shit and wont go away because its cheap advertising for all the local greedy businesses . balls to them .

Town divided , Echo versus Saturday star readers , red-necks versus hippies , locals versus blow-ins . Paid agitators in uniform confront hippies at quiet country town demonstration.
Big business would not be interested in country town until blow-ins blew in . locals now want big business rather than blow-ins , Blow-ins , blew in partially to get away from big business .
Locals see big business as progress , progress is no good if it's progressing in a bad direction .
Bad feeling in Mullumbimby .
